Good times...bad times

This last month or so has been a time of both good and bad times. As I mentioned, we went up to RI to see my elderly aunt. She's a social butterly and LOVES her new nursing home.

Additionally, we just got some news that Mark may be able to travel to both London AND Hong Kong on a job. If so, I'm going along to London. Dave and Erin (oldest step-son, DIL) live there and there is a good possibility that Andrew (younger step-son) may be moving there as well.

And Hong Kong isn't too terribly far from Australia, all things considered. If we could swing it and I could come along, it'd be a great time to make a quick hop over to see the girls in Australia, especially since Deb might have had her baby by then! This is all in earliest stages so we don't know what will happen yet

But in the "bad times" portion of all of this, my mom is very ill in the hospital at the moment. A cold turned to bronchitis, and bronchitis turned to viral bronchitis, which has triggered her lungs (she has severe lung damage from her lifetime of smoking). They rushed her in last Friday and she was on oxygen all weekend and into the middle of this week. She finally is starting to sound better, so we're all optimistic that this is a wake up call and not a downward slide to emphysema and oxygen dependency.

Please keep her in your thoughts.

UPDATE

I just learned that her doctor isn't happy about her progress and is putting her on IV antibiotics despite the fact that she has viral bronchitis. She'll be in the hospital for the next few days.
