will wonders never cease

A couple of years ago, Mark worked for a company called That Stupid Place(welll,...that's whatr I call it here). At the beginning of his work tenure, everything looked good but all of a sudden, cracks began appearing in the foundation of this 'company' (and I use the term lightly).

Apparently the company had been run into the ground previously, and that was why the tech savvy co-owner ceeded CEO status to his cold-as-ice wife.

Every month they had an employee of the month who got the draw an envelope from a bowl. The employee of the month got to pick a a red envelope, with a random $50-500 monopoly note in it This practice was also used for anniversaries, etc. Mark and I could only laugh when he got a 1.00 bill when he'd been there a year. Go him! It was also used as an inxentive and coworkers could recommend an 'attaboy' nominee who might get between 1-20.00

Anyway, creditors were on these folks' butts left right and center and nearly every contract dissolved into chaos both financially and technically. The techie guys and the contract managers must have felt emotionally battered when they were getting it from all ends.

Mark saw the writing on the wall and left the company when the ievitable seemed possible. He joined a bunch of ex co-workers at a new company and recommended a few good people to this company.

The company did indeed fold, leaving god knows how many people without a final paycheck. The owners seemed to have slunk back into their little pit and all wasn;t good, but everyone had moved on.

Until now. The company is baaaack, presumably under the same management and at this link
same crappy company with the same name.

You'd think these people would have shame seeing that the screwed people out of their hard earned money at least TWICE. And we won't even mention how many times checks bounced, and it is highly suspected that they replaced contracted sold as new goods from EBay sales, etc etc etc etc.

I hope this company goes down before it gets off the ground... I'm sick of these people screwing with people's lives!
